Frequently Asked Questions

Here are some frequently asked questions to help you understand more about our pregnancy and postnatal retreats at Maia Collctive

What is Maia Collective?

Maia Collective offers luxury pregnancy and postnatal retreats. Founded by a mother and daughter, the retreat is designed to support rest, preparation and the transition into motherhood through a considered, evidence-informed approach.

Where is Maia Collective based?

Maia Collective is based in Devon, UK. Our retreats take place in carefully chosen countryside settings that offer privacy, calm and space to rest, while remaining accessible for travel within the UK.

Who are the retreats for?

Our retreats are designed for women during pregnancy and the postnatal period who are seeking a calm, supportive environment to rest, reflect and prepare for motherhood. Many of the women drawn to Maia Collective value privacy, quality, evidence-informed care and a slower, more intentional approach.

Do I need to be a first-time mother to attend?

No. Maia Collective welcomes women at different stages of motherhood. While many attendees may be first-time mothers, our retreats are equally relevant for those who have previously given birth and are seeking a different or more supported experience.

What is included in a Maia Collective retreat?

Each retreat experience is thoughtfully curated and may include guided rest, reflective space, group discussion, nourishment and antenatal education led by a registered midwife. Full details will be shared closer to the launch of our retreats.

Is antenatal education included?

Yes. Antenatal education is woven into the retreat experience and is led by a registered midwife. Rather than being delivered as a standalone course, education is integrated gently and thoughtfully alongside rest and reflection.

Is this a replacement for NHS antenatal care?

No. Maia Collective does not replace NHS maternity care. Our retreats are designed to complement existing care, offering additional space for reflection, preparation and support. Founder Victoria is a registered midwife and is passionate about delivering evidence-based information which complements and supports NHS midwives.

When will retreats be available?

Maia Collective retreats are planned to launch in Summer 2026. You can join our mailing list to receive updates, early information and priority access when bookings open.

Can I attend postnatally with my baby?

Yes, absolutely. Maia Collective’s postnatal retreats are designed to support mothers and babies during the early postnatal period, with babies warmly welcomed. Our approach is centred on rest, recovery and wellbeing, recognising that for many women this is best supported when their baby is close by. Full details around the structure and support offered during postnatal retreats will be shared closer to launch.

How long are the retreats?

Our retreats will initially be offered as one-day experiences, thoughtfully designed to provide meaningful rest, reflection and connection. Retreats will be hosted in beautiful Devon hotel settings, with the option to add an overnight stay directly with the venue for those who wish to extend their time.

In time, Maia Collective retreats will be expanded and built upon to include longer retreat experiences, allowing for deeper rest and immersion as the collection grows.

What makes Maia Collective different from other retreats?

Maia Collective is shaped by a mother–daughter founding team and guided by both lived experience and professional expertise. Our approach is evidence-informed, women-centred. Our retreats have been thoughtfully curated, bringing together a range of qualified experts to deliver credible and evidence-based sessions for your retreat experience.

Is Maia Collective a luxury retreat?

Yes. Maia Collective is intentionally positioned as a luxury retreat, not in excess or indulgence, but in quality, care, time and attention. Everything is designed to feel considered, un-rushed and supportive.

How can I stay informed?

You can join our mailing list to receive updates on retreat availability, early access to bookings and thoughtfully curated resources related to pregnancy and the postnatal period.

Can I contact you with questions?
